New 2024 Toyota Tacoma AWD, Electric, Features – The USA can’t get enough of its 2024 Toyota Tacoma trucks, so it’s no surprise that the Toyota Tacoma sells well. Of course, it may have something to do with the that it’s competent and enjoyable to drive off-road. It’s neither too small nor too large; it falls neatly into the mid-size category, so it’s not too cumbersome around town.
But don’t be deceived; it is not meant for city life. The rugged Pioneer lacks the elegance of a daily driver, with a harsh riding experience on asphalt roads and clunky handling. In these features, it can’t equal the considerably smoother Honda Ridgeline. Toyota’s standard four-cylinder engine is a letdown, too. However, if you go for the throatier V6 and stick to the less frequented routes, you may fall in love with the Tacoma pickup, like so many others before you.
2024 Toyota Tacoma Redesign
The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is likely to launch, and Toyota isn’t modifying the previous model too much. The only changes of note are to the high-riding TRD Pro and Trail Edition trims, which are now lifted even higher off the ground with their suspensions raised another 0.5 inches at the back for both; in front, ride height is increased by 1.5 inches for the TRD Pro and by 1.1 inches for the Trail Edition. The TRD Pro’s boasts new forged aluminum upper control arms and its Fox internal-bypass dampers provide for even greater off-road performance.
A new paint color, Electric Lime, is introduced to the TRD Pro’s palette, and it receives new stamped bedside TRD Pro badges and new optional hood graphics. A paint hue that used to be limited to the TRD Pro trim, Lunar Rock, may now be chosen on the TRD Sport and Trail Edition. Other upgrades on the Trail Edition include a standard rear locking diff, TRD Off-Road skid plates, new bronze 16-inch alloy wheels, and bronze Toyota branding on the grille, as well as a 120-volt power outlet in the bed and driver’s-side bed storage that is insulated and can serve as a cooler.
Interior
A select few people purchase a pickup truck for its plush interior, and if you are one of those select few, then the 2024 Toyota Tacoma is not the right decision for you. Styling is basic and the materials utilized are sturdy but not high-class. Leather is offered at the highest trim levels, but it is for the seats alone, leaving the plastic dash and door panels to fend for themselves. An electrically adjustable driver’s seat on most versions makes it simple to establish a decent driving position, and the buttons for the features are placed for convenience of access.
The Tacoma is not a good family hauler. Legroom is extremely small in the rear, with as little as 24.6 inches in the Access Cab. This is improved when you pick the Double Cab as it gives 32.6 inches of legroom, but it still doesn’t qualify as roomy. Headroom follows the same trend, although it’s really rather decent in the rear of the Double Cab.
Engine
Of the two engine offered for the Toyota pickup, the first is quite uninspiring. With 159 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque, the 2.7-liter four-pot drives the big Tacoma pickup along, but not with any degree of hurry. A six-speed automatic gearbox handles duty here, and both 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrains are on offer. This engine is standard on the SR and SR5, whereas the top trims receive the V6 engine as standard.
The same six-speed automatic gearbox is an option here, too, but the TRD grades and Trail Edition may also be configured with a six-speed manual. If you simply want the Tacoma for its looks and never plan to put it to work, the standard four-cylinder is okay, but if you ever want to tow or go off-road, then pass it over instead. The V6 unleashes the entire power of the car, and it works best when partnered with the manual transmission.
2024 Toyota Tacoma Release Date and Price
